Retired Chief Jessica Robledo was the first Latina Police Chief for Pflugerville, TX. She served the City in this esteemed role for four years, then retired in 2021 after 34 years in law enforcement. Before joining Pflugerville PD, Jess served as the first Latina Assistant Chief for Austin, TX, and is a proud graduate of FBINAA Session #245.
During her tenure as Chief, Robledo prioritized first responder mental wellness and pioneered an annual mental health resilience check for her staff. In addition, she provided a safe environment for officers to create a suicide prevention podcast, highlighting stories of job-related perseverance. The Center for American and International Law honored Jess for providing this suicide prevention program which has become a national model. Robledo also joined forces with the Law Enforcement Executives of Central Texas (LEECT) to produce “Smash the Stigma,” a video supporting police resilience.
