Mike Whan

Mike Whan retired as Deputy Chief at the Reno Police Department with over 20 years of service. He worked as a Robbery Homicide Detective, SWAT Commander, and Hostage Negotiations Commander. Responsibilities also included traffic and special events. Mike directed operational development, strategic planning, and fiscal accountability. He was dedicated to mentoring employees, leadership practices, and progressive training, as well. Mike graduated from the FBI National Academy Session #244, attended the Senior Management Institute for Police in Boston Massachusetts, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada Reno.
