Police Officer Arrested After An Investigation Revealed He Fraudulently Billed Work Hours
Officer faces three counts of grand theft and one count of organized scheme to defraud after an investigation allegedly revealed several instances where the officer signed on to work off-duty details while still working the scheduled on-duty shift. The timecard discrepancy of several hundred incorrectly billed hours caused the loss of thousands of dollars.
26 Officers Suspended From Secondary Employment Following Investigation
Nearly 30 officers were suspended from working secondary employment after an investigation revealed off-duty job impropriety. The officers were ultimately suspended for a number of issues including timecard discrepancies, exceeding maximum work hours, and other agency policy violations.
Off-Duty Police Officer Shot While Working At Nightclub
An officer is working a routine off-duty shift providing security for a nightclub. An individual brings an illegal firearm into the premises. When confronting the individual, the weapon discharged injuring both the officer and the perpetrator. In such instances, liability and cause of injury are in question.

When an armed assailant discharges a firearm into a crowded bar, an off-duty officer returns fire to protect the occupants of the bar. The assailant was critically wounded, as well as a bar patron.
